Passion & Enthusiasm
The sportfishing business was started even further back
by “BIG BILL” Hackshaw and then continued and run by his son Michael Hackshaw,
known to all as CAPTAIN MIKE, who was just about the most flamboyant character St. Lucia has ever seen.
His passion and enthusiasm for the sea has passed onto his twin sons Andrew and Bruce Hackshaw,
who now run the company. Although our company has expanded,
it is still small and able to give our customers the most personalized of services.

FAQ's
1. What time does the tour start and where do we meet?
The tour departs promptly at 8:00 AM and returns at 12:00 PM. We recommend arriving at the dock by 7:45 AM. We are located at Vigie Marina in Castries Harbour, a convenient spot for both hotel guests and cruise ship passengers.
Is this tour suitable for beginners?
Absolutely! Whether you are a seasoned pro or have never held a fishing rod, our experienced crew is there to help. They will handle the baiting, rigging, and instruction so you can enjoy the thrill of the catch.
What kind of fish can we expect to catch?
We target the “Big Five” of the Caribbean: Blue Marlin, Sailfish, Yellowfin Tuna, Wahoo, and Dorado (Mahi Mahi). While we can’t guarantee a catch (that’s why they call it fishing!), we use local knowledge to put you in the best spots.
What is included in the price?
Your US $150 fare covers:
Professional captain and first mate.
All fishing tackle and gear (Tournament-standard Penn and Shimano reels).
Fresh and artificial bait.
Complimentary refreshments, including bottled water, sodas, and our famous local rum punch.
What should I bring with me?
We recommend bringing sun protection (sunscreen, hat, and sunglasses), a camera for your trophy photos, and comfortable, non-slip footwear. Since the Caribbean sun can be intense, light-colored clothing is best.
Can I keep the fish I catch?
Per local maritime tradition and boat policy, the catch typically belongs to the boat. However,
the crew is often happy to provide enough fillets for a meal if you’d like to take some to a local restaurant for preparation!
Please note that we practice catch-and-release for all Marlin and Sailfish to support conservation.
Is there an age limit?
Yes. To ensure the safety and comfort of all guests on our deep-sea vessels, this tour is restricted to ages 12 and older.
Should I worry about sea sickness?
The waters around St. Lucia can occasionally be choppy with swells. If you are prone to motion sickness, we strongly recommend taking a preventative medication (like Dramamine) about an hour before departure.
What is the cancellation policy?
We offer a full refund for cancellations made at least 24 hours in advance. If the tour is cancelled by the captain due to unsafe weather conditions, you will be offered an alternative date or a full refund.
Are hotel transfers included?
This specific group rate is for the tour only. While we do not include transfers in the base price, taxis are readily available throughout the island, and we are a short distance from the Pointe Seraphine cruise terminal.

GOOD Based on 292 reviews Posted on FionaBailey8864Verified Orca sightings St Lucia Amazing experience. We didn't see dolphins but we did see 7 Orcas very close to the boat - swimming all around us and coming back several times. This was in the bay by the Pitons which made it even more magical. There were plenty of flying fish and diving birds which were also impressive to watch! Crew were great and there was a good choice of drinks and snacks. Highly recommend - but as always sightings can't be guaranteed! However, if you get these rare Orcas - it's very special indeed!Posted on G MVerified Amazing experience seeing wildlife in their natural environment Friendly crew and great boat trip. We saw different birds, flying fish and travelled all the way down the coast to the pitons. The most amazing highlight was seeing Orcas which is apparently very unusual here in St Lucia. Good to have a range of drinks and some fruit all included. Shout out to K.J. who was our guide for his enthusiasm alongside the spotter and captain!Posted on Cruiser621015Verified Best water experience ever!! I was going on this trip expecting to see 1 dolphin maybe.,… we saw 50 -70! The crew was super fantastic. And the boat was in excellent condition. There were only 8 of us on the boat. The crew did their best to keep us out searching for whales but unfortunately not today. We were very happy to say the least. We would recommend and we have that you go on this trip, you will not be disappointed.Posted on TillyVerified Fantastic! Great welcome from the crew who were all lovely . They were very knowledgeable . We had a fantastic time with them and were lucky enough to see lots of whales although no dolphins . We were offered drinks and snacks and really well looked after throughout the trip . Delighted to say that after several rum punches my merry husband treated me to diamonds ! Perfect end to a perfect day 🥰🐳🐳🐳🐳Posted on L DVerified Just amazing Wow, what an amazing experience. The whole trip was outstanding. We saw loads of pods of dolphins and then to get even better saw a family of Sperm whales. Two adults and two calves and then more in pairs . So magical. The crew were very knowledgeable and complimentary drinks was a nice touch. Rumpunch).Posted on RonVerified Nice boat ride Nice ride though we didn’t see any dolphins or whales. Excellent crew, plus a great way to see the island. Large comfortable boatPosted on Curiosity19311791309Verified Gorgeous trip even when unsuccessful. We had an amazing trip with Captain Mike's team. Unfortunately we didn't see any Dolphins or Whales, but the vibes and the views were beautiful and worth the price in itself. Gorgeous view of the island and especially special to see the Pitons from the sea. Flying fish everywhere! Delicious rum punch, bananas and a great team. Highly recommend.Posted on Walsy323Verified Saw a huge pod of dolphins 🐬 Incredible experience, we saw a huge pod of dolphins with the Pitons in the background! Staff were fab and drinks were offered throughout. We loved seeing the west coast of the island from the boat. The experience seeing the dolphins was absolutely wonderful. As always with wildlife, you can never guarantee that you will see anything so we felt truly. Only reason this isn’t 5 stars is because there weren’t quite enough seats for everyone and did feel a little cramped at times, but easy to get over with the amazing views and vibes :)Posted on M CVerified Amazing dolphins We weren’t sure what to expect. Experience was under £50 per head and boat takes up to 70 people. It left exactly on time at 8am so beware traffic in Castries. Staff on board were charming, especially Joshua. Drinks offered regularly and fruit also available. We were advised that between 8 and 9 times out of 10 there’s likely to be a sighting of something. After 2 hours at sea we came across the most amazing pod of about 200 dolphin, it was absolutely magical, truly unbelievable. Would I recommend this experience, yes, 100%. We’ve now booked something else for later in the week we loved it so much.

Wonderful time on our whale watch with Captain Mike's. Saw 4 mammal species and we hung out with each one a good, long time to really appreciate them. Crew was friendly, attentive and informative. Great way to see wildlife and get views of the island from the water. Highly recommend!Posted on Natalie WarrinerTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. No whales this trip but hundreds of Dolphins which was very pretty. The Ocean was very choppy so fair warning if you get sea sick, take dramamine patches! The boat is very loud so also if you are sensitive to hearing, I would bring ear protection.Posted on Ancuta LutzTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. We had a great tour , the crew was very friendly and professional and hat a lot of inside tips . Was a great experience thank youPosted on Robert KemetherTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. My son-in-law and I had a great time with Captain Marco and first mate Josh. It's great to be trolling for big fish 10 minutes after leaving the dock.Posted on Ruby JacksonTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. We had the best time on our deep-sea fishing trip. I only caught the one fish the 16 pound Maui, which was the biggest fish I ever called and the most exciting time ever! The only thing that would’ve made it better is if we could’ve kept the fish but other than that we had a wonderful time. Mario and Josh was absolutely amazing. Love them both.!
